This is a tribute to one of my favorite cartoons ever: ExoSquad. It was epic. Alec and Maggie were my favorite characters, and even though the show was on in the very early 90's and I was a wee lass, I never forgot about them.

The style is a little bit of a departure for me because I intentionally avoided using a heavy outline and tried to just paint it. I know there are issues with some of the shading, but for a first sincere shot at it, I'm pretty okay with how this turned out. I like the hair on both of them and the fabric on her jumpsuit, at least. The background is a little goofy, but after trying a lot of things, I decided something sort of abstract and 90's looking was the right thing to do, so that's why there's a very 90's color palette and the ExoSquad logo.

You don't know how happy I am to see some signs of life for this show, it's makes all happy and nostalgic squeeing all at the same time.
That being said I am currently looking for a fan artist to do an accompanying piece for Small Fandom Big Bang fic.
